Theoretical part Ι »Avartists - virtual characters in pop music« examines exceptional forms of appearance of different bands and music artists in the last 30 to 40 years in pop music. The main focus is, which forms of presentation can be used by a virtual band like e.g. the Gorillaz, which media are most appropiate and what intentions do they have with their music project? Might a virtual band be even more authentic than some real ones?

Practical part Ι As practical result of this final project, »roboto - virtual soul jazz« is a concept of a virtual soul jazz band, that is only presented on the Internet via respective websites especially to a young audience. For this concept I designed characters and music clip with styleguide, storyboard and animatic.
